Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Ladakh

Open arrival at Leh Airport, meet our representative and proceed to your hotel. Relax for the day before you start the trek.

Day 2Acclimatization Day

Before you start the trek, make sure your health is fine and get a good body check-up. Spend your day at the shopping but avoid high altitude places.

Day 3Day of permits and exits

Take permits and prepare for the trek. By the morning of the fourth day, you are all set to begin.

Day 4Leh - Shingra Koma; Gyalpo

Begin your tour after a heavenly breakfast. Drive for 3-4 hours and take trekking for 5 hrs. Chadar Tek is ready to put you on through Zanskar lake and reach Shangri Koma. Overnight stay at Gyalpo.

Day 5Gyalpo - Tibb Cave

Another day trekking for 5-6 hrs so that you reach to Tibb cave from Gyalpo. Experience the sub-zero temperature. Overnight stay at Tibb cave.

Day 6Tibb cave - Naerak Camp

Trek for 13 km which will take 6 to 7 hours. Naerak, coldest campsites and which decreases more during nights. Reaching the waterfall by evening so that we have ample time to visit the Naerak village.

Day 7Naerak Camp- Tibb cave

Returning journey begins which includes 5-6 hours of trekking downstream. Overnight at camps in Tibb Cave.

Day 8Tibb Cave to Shingra Yokma

Today start from Tibb, go up to Gyalpo, and then trek on to reach Shingra Yokma. Reach Leh and have a heavenly breakfast. Overnight in Leh.

Day 9Depart your hometowns

Early morning after breakfast leave for your early flights. Collect the memories and take them back with you.

When is the best time to do Chadar Trek?

The best time to do Chadar Trek is the winter months of January and February. The Zanskar River is frozen at this time of the year and most of the groups prefer trekking in these months

Do we need a walking stick on chadar trek?

The choice is yours if you want a walking stick or not. But it is always more comfortable with a trekking pole.

How many trekkers are there in one group?

Normally we take up to15-20 people in one batch including males and females. We need a minimum of 10 people to run a fix departure but for the customized groups, size doesn’t matter.

Is Leh safe to visit?

Yes, Leh is absolutely safe to visit as there is no active conflict in the area.

Does the internet work in Leh?

Yes, towns and villages in Leh have internet connectivity.

What clothes should one wear during Chadar Trek?

Complying with the insulating properties of air, Layering is a technique that will help you withstand the piercing cold of Ladakh. Ensure that you wear around 4-5 layers of clothing throughout this trek.

Will bonfire be possible?

There are no woods in the valley and Leh making it impossible to arrange a bonfire. The only healthy way to keep yourself warm is by wearing as many clothes as you can in layers.

We were walking on ice, we were drinking those ice (of-course the boiled one), but the most exciting part was that we were never complaining even under these extreme condition. Thank to these amazing group of people I was travelling with. The support staff, the organiser and each and every people related to this trip were an amazing host.
