Nepal is a historic country with worldwide popularity for its authenticity and beauty. Its capital- KATHMANDU, is named after a structure in Durbar Square called Kasthamandap. In Sanskrit, Kastha is “wood” and Mandap is “covered shelter.” This gorgeous valley for a country is quite iconic as a lot of kingdoms rose and fell, palaces and temples rebuilt, and art and cultures preserved and protected. In short, Kathmandu is the largest city in Nepal and abounds in greenery. POKHARA is the third-largest city of Nepal after Kathmandu and Biratnagar. Pokhara lies on an important old trading route between China and India. CHITWAN: The name Chitwan comes from the Sanskrit words “Citta” meaning heart and “vana” meaning jungle or forest. Thus, the meaning of Chitwan is Heart of the Jungle. The district takes its name from the Chitwan Valley, one of Nepal’s Inner Terai valleys between the Mahabharat and Siwalik ranges, both considered foothills of the Himalayas. Indeed, Nepal educational tour is worth all the hype!
