The construction of Sophia Kyivska was an act to demonstrate Kyivan Rus’ power. Here are the tombs of Yaroslav the Wise and his wife Irina. Previously, Sofiya Kyivska was a library. Multiple churches, towers, printing works, kilometers of maze-like underground tunnels containing numerous churches, and some of Kyiv’s richest museums can be found in this twenty-eight-hector active monastery. The Motherland Monument is one of Kyiv’s tourist attractions. The sculpture, which is part of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World Conflict, represents people’s achievements during the war.
