For the ones who solely want to visit Manali because of the chilly winter season and the snowfall, October to February are your months to be. The temperature drops down below zero degrees Celsius. Summer in the region starts in the month of March and lasts till June. Either way it’s amazing. Whatever suits and is preferred by you!

You can reach Manali by Air. The nearest airport to this stupendous hill station is Bhuntar, around 50 kms from Manali. Manali can also be reached by Train. However, there are no railway stations in Manali provided the fact that it’s a hilly region. But many vacationers prefer to travel by road to Kullu, especially from Delhi, and then from there to Manali.

Manali isn’t just a destination, it’s an emotion. The fact that you get to do so much in a single trip is indeed blissful. From every scenic beauty that catches your sight to every sport activity that hoards your attention, the hill station that we are now gonna talk in detail about is one hell of an exhilarating odyssey!

  1. Rohtang Pass

What is even a trip to Manali without visiting the famous Rohtang pass? It’s an infamous tourist attraction in Manali. The Pass is located about 51 kms from Manali at a height of 3980 m on the highway to Leh. Moreover, it acts as a crucial trade route and a passageway to the valleys of Lahaul-Spiti and Leh. It’s open for tourists every year from June to October. Rohtang Pass offers some trail-blazing views which includes series of snow-capped mountain peaks. Other places to visit include, the Dassaur Lake and the Beas Kund. Also noticeable are the Sonapani glacier and the twin peaks of Geypan.

  1. Solang Valley

The Solang Valley is yet another primeval spot in Manali to adore the extraordinary sights of that of snow-capped mountains and glaciers. Located in between the village of Solang and Beas Kund, the valley is totally your place to be owing to the myriad number of sports activities it offers. Various summers and winter adventure activities include paragliding, zorbing, skating, horse riding and skiing. Skiing rentals and training in the same are also available.

  1. Old Manali

Old Manali is for the nerds and aesthetes. The place with an antique vibe truly matches your love for rustic cottages, meandering rivers, clear skies and lush-green backyards. This place is to relish the tranquillity of life, away from the dins and sounds of city life. One of the most striking sites include the Manu Maharishi Temple, dedicated to the ancient sage Manu (from whom Manali derives its name). Old Manali is a mountain village and the serenity of the same is well-preserved even today!

  1. Naggar

Naggar village was initially the capital of the Kullu Kingdom in the 16th century. Naggar Haveli “castle” is rather a famous one, something you must have heard of in popular culture/ fiction. It is a stunning stone-and-wood structure which has now been converted into a heritage hotel- privy to some exotic views of the Kullu valley. Other popular attractions include the Jagati Patt temple, the Gauri Shankar temple, the Chatur Bhuj temple and the Roerich art gallery. The popular Naggar fair is held annually in April. Naggar serves as a showcase for Manali, flaunting the rich cultural heritage, beauty and an ancient, forlorn history of the same!

  1. Jogini Falls

The Jogini falls is indeed a mind-boggling place to be. It is a 2 km trek northwards from the Vashist village. The sight that’s typical of every waterfall gushing from the high mountains isn’t that common a thing here. For your trek charms you via a scenic route amidst mountains and pine forests. The sight calms you, soothes your inner turmoil and connects you with yourself owing to the tranquillity that abounds.

  1. Beas Kund

The Beas river originates from the Beas Kund lake in the Dhauladhar range and is at a height of 4000 meters from sea level. It’s a religiously infamous place for the Hindus owing to the popular belief that ancient sage Vyas took his daily Bath in this lake. The Beas Kund is a picturesque location with mountains all over. The Beas Kund trek is indeed the most popular short trek in the region.

Often known as the “Valley of Gods”, Manali is indeed a town described and exhibited in various Ruskin Bond Novels. The town is undoubtedly all over the place when it comes to trekking or seeking certain sport adventures, much more after the Bollywood movie, “Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani”. The town owes its aesthetic stance to various ancient temples, mountain peaks, hot springs and the snowy climate of course. To relinquish yourself unto the arms of this Nature-loving town and to mooch in the delicacies of culture, custom and tradition, start by booking your tickets to the same!
