April, May, September and October are the warmer months comparatively and therefore probably the best times to visit Turkey’s grandeur sites and scenes. The summer months from June through to September are very hot, with temperatures reaching the mid-30°Cs on the south coast. This isn’t therefore the time for tourist-type adventures!

The most viable way to reach Turkey is by air. A lot many flights can be seen flying from the metropolitan cities in India. One can board a flight to the Istanbul Atatürk Airport (IST) from Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Delhi, and reach Turkey in 9 to 13 hours, depending on the airline.

Turkey offers a wide range of travel options with unmatchable beauty and picture-perfect scenes. P.s, do not forget to take your cameras. You will want to capture pretty everything!

You are sure to be stunned by the modernity of the city. The city is all westernised right from the government buildings, commercial businesses centres, to universities and foreign embassies. Well, Ankara is the link between your country and Turkey, being the major transportation hub itself. You could spend most of your time in reconnoitring the brilliant museums, including the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations.

  • Mardin

Remember the plains of Mesopotamia from your history books back in school? Well, you get to see it from here; right below the hilltops is Mardin- the capital of the Mardin Province. The city has some really old ruins of let’s say settlements and is best known for its cultural diversity. Moreover, the maze of bendy streets leads visitors along terraced houses and popular sites like Deyrü’z-Zafaran Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in the world, and the Sultan Isa Medresesi, an ancient monument that once served as an astronomical observatory.

Istanbul was initially the capital of the Ottoman and Byzantine Empires but now is a huge city in Turkey and one of the largest cities in the world! Istanbul is the city that connects Asia with Europe and hence, the cultural blend! Now, read us carefully- “Istanbul is beautiful”! It abounds in illustrious architecture, historic sites, dining, shopping, nightlife and exotic atmosphere- making it worth your visit. P.s, don’t miss on the Old City because that’s where you find impressive historic sites like the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace.

  • Cappadocia

This city booms as a fairy-tale cut-out piece owing to its unusual formations resembling chimneys, cones and pinnacles. Well, thanks to humans for the first time for beautifying the city for us by adding remarkable touches to the landscape such as houses, churches and underground cities, made from the soft rock. The caves in the region have a long history and are today hotels that cater to the tourists. And what best way possible to be a patron to all of this than to be an onlooker of the same from a hot air balloon?!

  • Ephesus

Ephesus is an ancient site located in Aegean Turkey and is a classic European metropolis. It once boasted of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Temple of Artemis. The ruins of the city are well preserved within a large archaeological site, making it one of Turkey’s most popular tourist attractions. Popular Attractions include- The huge Theatre, the Temple of Hadrian and the magnificent Celsus Library, a two-story structure that was built to house more than 12,000 scrolls.

  • Bodrum

Take a chill-pill! Yes, literally! Once, a popular land, the intriguing ruins of the same today make up for stunning beaches and cliff-top resorts attracting people from all over the world. The Castle of St. Peter, also known as Bodrum Castle is worth all your travel efforts. It serves as a museum today. Moreover, on Bodrum’s eastern side, resides a beautiful beach with crystal clear waters. Also, there are a number of cafes, bars and nightclubs in here. On the western side of town is the marina, shopping centres and restaurants.

  • Konya

Konya is an old city much known for its remarkable Seljuk architecture and Whirling Dervishes. Once a flourishing capital city under the rule of the Seljuk Dynasty, it still houses admirable buildings such as the Alaeddin Mosque and the ruins of the Seljuk Palace. Moreover, to the Rumi fan in you, here’s to his poetic residence and roots! All hails down to his mausoleum, a must-see site in Konya. You can also find Rumi followers spinning around and around on the left foot while wearing white, billowing gowns during various religious ceremonies.
